Then the Blessed One addressed the monks: “Monks, now I exhort you. All conditioned things are subject to decay. Therefore, accomplish the goal through heedfulness.”
This was the Blessed One’s final utterance.
With the advents of Mahinda Thero, the island of Sri Lanka was illumined by the Buddha’s teaching. It is through the blessings of the Dhamma, rooted in the Buddhist vision, that people’s lives became stable, prosperous, and suffused with well-being and gladness. The essence of this Buddhist outlook has, since ancient times, been woven into the lives of our ancestors. From the past to the present, before beginning the tasks of daily life, it has been customary to receive the day’s auspicious blessing with the meritorious invitation of “the morning when the ten thousand Buddhas awakened.”

Thus, invoking the blessings of the Ten Thousand Buddhas, and offering prayers for the compassionate life of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday, 1000 golden Buddha statues were installed on July 06 in a special chamber at Pali and Sanskrit Cultural Exchange Center. The enshrinement of this 1000 golden Buddha statues in the unique chamber took place amid the reverent acclamations of international learned monks and devoted lay followers.
At the heart of this exquisitely adorned chamber where the 1000 Buddhas are honored, a sacred Buddha statue from Myanmar, crafted from priceless Jade stone, has been enshrined. This ulexite gemstone is traditionally believed to bestow long life and good health upon people.
Paying homage to this Holy chamber where 1000 Buddhas are enshrined will support the growth of your noble spiritual qualities as a devout Buddhist.
This sacred chamber of merit is open to you every day from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We warmly invite you to come with a faithful heart to cultivate wholesome Dhamma amid the chanting of protective suttas.
