Dhamma Retreat: A Transformative Spiritual Journey

Join us at the Pali and Sanskrit Cultural Exchange Center (Semkay Ling) for a unique Dhamma Retreat that combines both teachings and pilgrimage. Deepen your understanding of Buddhism, practice mindfulness, and embark on a spiritual journey of pilgrimage to cultivate inner peace and wisdom. This hybrid retreat integrates teachings throughout the pilgrimage experience.

Pilgrimage Itinerary:

• 5 Days in Anuradhapura: Visit sacred temples and stupas, including the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, in this ancient kingdom steeped in Buddhist history.
• 5 Days in Dambulla: Meditate at the Dambulla Cave Temple, surrounded by peaceful rock temples and murals.
• 5 Days in Kandy: Explore the Temple of the Tooth Relic and immerse yourself in the rich Buddhist traditions of this historic city.
• 5 Days in Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak): Embark on a pilgrimage to the sacred site with the Buddha’s footprint. (Note: The weather can be cold, so please pack accordingly.)

Accommodation:

• Semkay Ling Centre: Free food and lodging facilities for early arrivals before the retreat begins.
• Luxury Accommodation (if someone requests): Not included in the retreat package. Separate arrangements and additional costs apply if you prefer luxury accommodation throughout the program.

Retreat Fee:

$1650 per person for one month
(Includes food, lodging, and transport)
Note: Pilgrimage ticket costs and additional expenses are not included and has to be borne by the participant separately.

Teachings & Classes:

Guided by experienced Dhamma teacher and practitioner Venerable Geshe Tenzin Celon La, all teachings are free of charge. Donations to support Geshe La’s work are welcome and can be offered directly to him.

Topics Covered:

• Eight Verses of Mind Training (Geshe Langri Thangpa)
• 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva (Gyalsay Thokmey Sangmo)

Important Information:

• No Age Restrictions: Open to everyone, whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience with Buddhist teachings.
